Tennis Tournaments

Great to have your company!

Tournament tennis, and match tennis, need specific preparation. Since 1991 workouttennis.com has been training players specifically for an upcoming match or tournament.

workouttennis.com analyses the trends in the modern professional game, and we give our views on these trends in our articles.

The players are all resident on site. They share accommodation, activities and meals with our other guests - these are holiday-makers or home-stayers visiting historical sites and tourist attractions in and around the 219,400 hectare National Park. For many years we have concentrated on the rich tournament circuit in NE France around our residential site . Mostly we were training international players on tennis scholarships, in other words, combining studies and full-time tournament play.  Our players ranged from those taking school exams, to those playing on full-time squads.

There are now fewer scholarships available, so we have changed our admission restrictions. Before, we only had players still in studies. Now you don't have to be a student. You can have left studies, or taking a pause in studies. We don't insist that you continue studies whilst playing tournaments. In any case, we've always known that some players find combining studies and tennis stressful, and unproductive.

We have two categories who receive special training and tournament periods : - first, adult club players who are competition regulars;and second, junior players wanting to intensify their experiences during holidays. Both these groups receive full accommodation + meals for either a weekend, a week, or a number of weeks. The most popular time period on site is three weeks.

Around the training and tournaments, we build in visits to the surrounding area, as well as organising classes either on site or in other suitable locations (in companies, or universities).  This is called the ACADEMY. Look at this link for a typical weekend programme for the ACADEMY.

In addition to these newly-defined groups, our old group is still running strong. This is called PROFESSIONAL.  So we have full-time players on site, who are playing a tournament somewhere in the NE France region nearly every week.   These tournament players receive a rich mix of high level club training; practice matches against local tournament players; practice with workouttennis.com coaches, and courtside analysis at tournament matches. This has worked for us and for our players since 1992, and we welcome you to join us.

 Tennis base

At workouttennis.com we have 29 years experience of coaching tournament players, and organising their schedules. We have accommodation in the centre of an area where tennis tournaments of various levels are available all year round. It is the perfect location.

Sometimes we organise tournament series outside our immediate area. We know the most suitable accommodation for our travelling players.

As a permanent tennis facility we use a club which has recently been refurbished, about 25 minutes from our accommodation, with four outdoor courts and three indoors. The facilities are excellent, and there are several training groups and slots we can put our players onto for practice.  More importantly it is also right in the centre of our tournament zone.

We want our players to be totally tennis-focussed. We want every second of practice time to be profitable for the player. We want ideal conditions for rest and relaxation. At workouttennis.com we aim to be effective, and give young players optimal chances.
